Women’s Museum

Women’s Museum in Hanoi is a museum focusing on the contribution of women to Vietnam’s history and culture in many aspects such as military conflict, commercial area, etc. It opens at 8am – 4pm every day.

The excellent Women’s Museum has some terrific displays. There is the inevitable tribute to women soldiers, balanced by some great exhibits from the international women’s movement protesting the American War. There is much more I terms of cultural and political information. On the 4th floor you can see different costumes worn by the women of the ethnic-minority groups, and examples of tribal basketware and fabric motifs. This is one place where many of the exhibits have Vietnamese, French and English explanations.
