Tam Coc

Known as “Halong Bay without the water”, “Halong Bay on the rice paddies” and so on, Tam Coc boasts spectacular scenery. While Halong Bay features vast rock formations rising out of the sea, Tam Coc has them jutting out of its rice paddies.

Tam Coc means “Three Caves”. Hang Ca, the first cave, is 127m long; Hang Giua, the second is 70m long; the third cave is the smallest one, only 40m long. The best way to tour Tam Coc is to take a boat on the Ngo Dong River. The boats are rowed into the caves; you can enjoy a very peaceful and scenic trip dominated by rice fields and karst towers which takes 2-3 hours.
