Minh Mang Tomb

Minh Mang Tomb is perhaps the most majestic of the Royal Tombs, famous for its architecture which harmoniously blends into the natural surroundings. The tomb was planned during Minh Mang’s lifetime and built between 1841 and 1843 by his successor, dedicated to Minh Mang, the second emperor of the Nguyen dynasty of Vietnam, reigning from 1820 to 1841

The Honor Courtyard is reached via three gates on the eastern side of the wall: Great Red Gate in center, Left Red Gate and Right Red Gate. Three granite staircases lead from the courtyard to the square Stele Pavilion, Dinh Vuong Nearby there once stood at altar on which buffaloes, horses and pigs were sacrificed.
