Thailand Food (Thai Cuisine)

Influenced by India, China and Asian Oceania, Thailand food focus on lightly prepared dishes with strong aromatic components, and feature spiciness, balance, detail and variety. Each dish or the overall meal uses a wide variety of herbs, spices and leaves and pursues for the balance of three to four fundamental taste senses: sour, sweet, salty, and bitter 

Rice is a central grain of Thai cuisine. The highly prized, sweet-smelling jasmine rice is indigenous to Thailand. Noodles are popular as well as a single dish, like the stir-fried phat thai or in the form of a noodle soup, which are usually made from either rice flour, wheat flour or mung bean flour and include six main types. And fruit is another part of the Thailand food and customarily served after a meal. 

Popular Dishes Suggested to Try

Fried Rice, fried with shrimp paste and served with sweet pork, sour mango, fried shrimp, chillies and shallots.
Dry Egg Noodles, served with slices of braised duck together with "blood tofu".
Yellow Curry, a Thai-Muslim dish which is mostly known in the West as "Thai yellow curry", made with chicken and potatoes or other meats and seafood.
Tom Yum Soup, a hot and sour broth made from lemon grass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, dried chillies and lime juice, usually with prawns (Tom Yam Kung) or chicken (Tom Yam Kai).
Curry puff, deep-fried pastry shells usually containing a chicken meat and potato curry.
