Thailand has a tropical wet and dry or savanna climate. It is tropical and humid for the majority of the country during most of the year. In northern Thailand, the weather is mostly dry between November and May, while the rest is dominated by the southwest monsoon with heaviest rainfall. Southern Thailand has two seasons -- the wet and the dry. On the west coast the southwest monsoon brings rain and often heavy storms from April through to October, whilst on the east coast the most rain falls between September and December.
The best time to visit Thailand is from November to February when the northeast monsoon is blowing cool, dry air which is Thailand’s cool season.

A passport valid for six months is required by all nationals to enter Thailand. Visas for Thailand are not required by all nationals. In this condition, there are two kinds of visa-free stay: 30 days (if entering via an international airport), and 15 days (if entering by land from a neighboring nation). If you are not in the visa-free-permitted countries, you need to get a Thai tourist visa which is valid for 60 days and can be extended for a further 30 days.  

Baht is the currency of Thailand, subdivided into 100 satang. It is very convenient for currency exchange for exchange spot is set up on the streets or airports. Foreign currencies can be exchanged at banks, hotels, etc. 1 USD = 30.0470 THB
American Express, MasterCard and Visa are widely accepted. ATMs are found in all major cities and almost all provincial banks. Traveller's cheques are also accepted by all banks and large hotels and shops. To avoid additional exchange rate charges, travellers are advised to take traveller's cheques in US Dollars, Euros or Pounds Sterling. 

Thailand’s time zone is seven hours ahead of GMT/UTC (London). At locals, times are often expressed according to the 24-hour clock.

You are strongly suggested to make a comprehensive insurance plan before your tour to guarantee your safety. To declare any existing medical conditions you have to make clear which will cover you. The insurance should cover Medical expenses, loss or damage of personal possessions, and accident of adventure activities.

In most cases, electrical sockets (outlets) in Thailand adopt European standard electrical socket types: Type A, Type B or Type C, and the sockets usually supply electricity at 220 (50 Hz) volts AC. If your appliance's plug doesn't match the shapes, you will need a travel plug adapter to plug in. Some hotels in Thailand offer this service.
