Doi Inthanon

The ultra prominent Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand, about 2,585m high, located in Chiang Mai Province, the northwestern Thailand.

Climbing upon the summit of Doi Inthanon is a popular activity for foreign and Thai tourists. On the New Year’s Day of Thailand, there will be over 12,000 people reaching the top of mountain.

Near the mountain's base was a pond where many crows gathered. On the main road to the summit of Doi Inthanon stand two Chedis against each other built to honor the 60th birthday anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1987, and the 60th birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit in 1992.
