Rice is the main food of the Myanmar people, usually served with meat or fish, soup, salad and vegetables all cooked in their own ways, and some relished to complement the meal. Curries are very popular. Myanmar food is with fewer spices and more ginger and garlic added. Regional specialties are generally hot and spicy, often consisting of fish, rice, noodles or vegetables.
