Myinkaba Village

Myinkaba Village is located in Myinkaba area, only about 1km away from Bagan to the south. With many distinctive lacquerware workshops, Myinkaba Village is famous for the traditional Mon-style lacquerware, one of the most common cottage industries in Bagan. Lots of giant stacks of bamboo are seen all over Myinkaba village, which is the main raw material of the plaited matting used for the walls of houses all over Myanmar.

At the north and south of Myinkaba Village many attractive sites are just off the main road and are easy to access, including Mingalazedi Paya which represents the final flowering of Bagan’s architectural outburst, Gubyaukgyi attracting many visitors with its well-preserved, richly, colored painting, Manuha Paya, named after King Manuha whose reign is one of the most admirable part of Burmese history, etc.
