Floating Gardens

Floating Gardens are unique style of farming that breeding the Inthas, and one of the most popular attractions in Inle Lake tour of Myanmar.

Located in north of Nampan, a peaceful village built on stilts over the water, floating gardens are the place where Intha farmers raise tomatoes, flowers, squash, fruits and vegetables on long wooden trellises supported on floating mats of vegetation.

In the morning and afternoon, farmers paddle up and down between the rows tending their crops. It’s a bucolic scene made all the more photogenic by the watery setting.
