Nam Khan River

As one of the two rivers past Luang Prabang in Laos, Nam Khan River is a lazy river, witnessing the daily life of Luang Prang together with the mighty Mekong River.

A wooden bridge runs across the river. On both sides stand traditional Lao houses, teak pilings, tall swaying palms and jungle shrubs, etc. A few small pirogues drift downstream, carrying fruits or hauling nets.
