Welcome to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia.
Upon arrival, you are greeted warmly and escorted to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your proposal.
You can erase your long-haul tiredness in the hotel, or wander around at will to get acquaintance with this appealing riverside capital of frenetic marketplaces and inviting sidewalk cafes.
After breakfast, set out for the impressive Royal Palace, home to the incredible solid silver-floored Silver Pagoda which has thousand of silver tiles on the floor of pagoda and houses the biggest golden Buddha statue. Raung Damrei Museum and National Museum show you a treasure chest of Angkorian and pre-Angkorian artifacts.
Proceed to Wat Phnom, a small hill crowned by an active wat (pagoda) marking the legend of Phnom Penh City. Then head to Toul Sleng, a frightening reminder of the horrors of Pol Pot regime. Enjoy shopping at Russian market.
In the evening, enjoy 1-hour boat cruise on Mekong River to explore night life of local. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Today set out from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap by land. Check in hotel for refreshment before starting your temple excursion.
The first stop is Tonle Sap Lake to take in the beauty of nature and appreciate the local life. The surface of the lake is dotted with the reflection of houses, boats, passing locals from work, school, etc.
Later head to Les Artisan, the Sculpture School in Seam Reap, to learn about one of the distinctive arts of Angkor region. Enjoy your nightlife in Siem Reap.
This day is highlighted by a wonderful temple tour.
Set out for the former capital Angkor Thom, home to dozens of temples including the enigmatic faces of Bayon, the imposing Terrace of the Elephants and the three-tiered Baphuon. Preah Khan is a huge, highly explorable monastic complex full of carvings, passages and photo opportunities.
Afternoon visit the miraculous Angkor Wat, the 8th wonder of the wold, which is the largest and best-preserved temple at the site and a significant religious centre: first Hindu, then Buddhist. Then enjoy a beautiful sunset view on Bakheng Hill. Overnight in Siem Reap.
After breakfast, visit Banteay Srey, one of the most unusual temples of Angkor, built largely of red sandstone with elaborate and deeply carved decoration. En route, Banteay Samre whose style of the towers and balustrades bear strong resemblance to the towers of Angkor Wat
Then visit the stunning Ta Prohm Temple to appreciate the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings which made it one of Angkor's most popular temples with visitors. Banteay Kdei, a sprawling, largely unrestored, monastic complex in much the same style as Ta Prohm.
Morning enjoy a breakfast in the hotel, then head to Rolous Group Temples located just outside Siem Reap, which date back to the late ninth century and are believed to denote the beginning of the ‘classic period’ in Khmer architecture.
In the afternoon, roam around the Old Market, a good place for travel souvenir, or enjoy a free leisure time as you want. Stay overnight in Siem Reap.
- Enjoy your final day in Cambodia by exploring Siem Reap on your own. We will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home. Bid farewell to Cambodia.
