Morning set out for the South Gate of Angkor Thom, visit the remarkable 54-tower Bayon Temple with over 200 giant stone smiling faces. Baphoun is noted for the large reclining Buddha on the north side which was added to the temple at a much later period. Then head to Phimeanakas, which was once crowned with a golden tower of spire and houses the Royal Palace. Terrace of Elephants and Terrace of Leper King are also on your visit-list.
Afternoon visit Angkor Wat, one of the largest temple complexes in the world, considered as the 8th wonder of the world and covering an area of 1.6 sq km. And appreciate sunset at Phnom Bakheng, served a temple mountain of the first city of Angkor when the capital was moved from the previous center of Roluos. Stay overnight in Siem Reap.
This day begins with Thommanon Temple, built by Suryavarman II, which is still in good conditions. Ta Keo was dedicated to the worship of Shiva and was the first Angkorian monument constructed entirely of sandstone. Then head to Ta Phrom built by Jayavarman VII as a shrine for his mother and as a monastery devoted to its upkeep.
Visit Neak Pean located across the Northern Avenue from Tep Pranam, which is also part of a group of five 12th century Hindu and Buddhist temples enclosed by a wall. Preah Khan Temples is also on your visit-list, a Buddhist temple built by King Jayavarman VII to honor his dead father.
